Dave ended up in the ER on Sunday night with a kidney stone. Crazy!! Today is Wednesday, and the poor guy hasn't passed it yet.
All I can say is loopy :)
In the ER we asked if he was kinda young to get a kidney stone...(like we thought) The ER doc kinda laughed and said no, he starts seeing them in patients at age 16, and all the way up. The doc said they see a lot of them in the ER. Because they are SOOO painful.
Hopefully, it won't be too much longer....

Struck Down & Baby Food
Our household has remained fairly healthy this winter until last Friday. The stomach FLU has hit. We've all taken a turn with a "24 hour" type variety, minus the fever. Dave has avoided thus far, thankfully. Mine started late last night, and I'm feeling somewhat better, but not 100%. We'll forgo the moms group we meet with on Thursdays, just in case we have any lingering germs.
Oh, and on the topic of baby food....Regan wouldn't eat the sweet potatoes I made after that initial night. I think I'll get a food mill to make sure it is extra pureed. I think the texture was just a little too course. Over the past month of so I've been shopping around for the best prices on Earth's Best Organic Baby Food, this is what I've found:
SuperTarget $.64
BabiesRUs $.79
Fresh & Natural $1.09
County Market $1.27
And this is for the exact same jar of "2nd Sweet Potatoes"
I guess is pays to shop around.

Omega 3's
I had dinner with some of my girlfriends from college and we got on the topic of the importance of Omega 3 fatty acids. I just threw some info together to email them, so I thought I'd also add it to my blog.
Here is some information about Omega3’s that we were talking about. You definitely want to buy good quality.
Good brands for Kids: Nordic Naturals ($25) and Carlson (I linked their sites)
We give the kids Nordic Naturals and Omegaplex (depends on what they feel like taking)
Dave and I take the Advocare brand called Omegaplex. It costs $12.95 (bottle of 90) I’ll attach their flyer so you can better read why Omega3s are so important. I can’t do the topic justice. (to view this flyer from my blog click on Omegaplex above, then Product Facts and Ingredients)
Some of the benefits for adults:
-Reduces inflammation, depression
-Reduce risk of cancer, arthritis, cardiovascular disease
-Excellent for brain development for prenatal and kids under age 4.
-When taken during pregnancy, it reduces risk of allergies, asthma and eczema
Some foods that have them:
-Green leafy vegetables
-Nuts & Seeds like almonds, walnuts, pine nuts and flax seed
-Flax seed oil, canola and soybean oil
-Cold water fish: mackerel, herring, halibut, and salmon

Bottled Water
While I was on my trip I learned that some companies are adding sodium to the bottled water they are marketing. How is that even LEGAL!! What a crime. The added sodium leaves you thirsty for more, and dehydrates you. Thus...increasing the companies profits! Unbelievable. The major brand I know of is Dasani (made by Coca-Cola), but I am sure there are more. So read the labels carefully.
A few brands that I know of that don't add anything; Fuji, Penta, and Evian.
I often bring along a "Sigg" with water in it...avoiding plastic chemicals leeching into the water I'm drinking.
